Thanks for sharing this Ian.  Today I'm thinking about just how unceremonious yesterday's "launch" of what was such a step forward in golf simulation presentation software truly was.  Here's my roundup of the major happenings with it:

 

1.) One response to its announcement on Trackman's Tiwtter page, and that was mine, and 1865 views

2.) 12 responses to the announcement on Trackman's Twitter page, and 2,120 views

3.) 96 likes and 14 comments on Trackman's Facebook page

4.) Not a single post about its release in the Trackman Golf Simulator Forum

 

It is sort of heartbreaking to me that a golf simulation/gaming breakthrough of this magnitude is going to be lost on so many people because it's got such a narrow stage.  Andrew, Mike and the others who were involved in creating Virtual Golf 2 deserve a broader spotlight for such an epic achievement as this!?  I hope that one day Trackman will realize what they are sitting on and tap the larger market potential for the gaming aspect of what they have in VG2.

You guys know how golf games are a small niche? Well, Simulator golf is even a smaller niche. And TM simulator is even smaller than that... lol

Also, most TM owners are either golf instructors or indoor golf facility owners. Very small numbers are home users. OGT Simulator community on the other hand is probably 95% home users.

Most TM posts are now on a simulator golf Facebook group. So far since release, there’s been nothing posted about VG2....

Well, looks like hopes for a PG2 are fading fast if the response to Ian's email is any indication. Kind of a bummer, but that's the way it is.

DAYUUUUUMMM.... that looks good!  The trees are so naturally swaying with the wind with the proper magnitude and direction.  The only thing unimpressive is the golf ball.  It looks sort of 2D'ish.  I'd still like to find a gameplay video somewhere in order to beat myself up even further over something I'll never even see in person, let alone play
