Yeah the killer triple Skunky.
I've settled in to practice mode at Mill Green - not only to learn the track but to fine tune the horizontal. My edict to allow practice at your fellow members courses has serendipitiously paid off for me as a by-product of said edict.
I'm always looking for ways to make my gameplay seem more real. I'm easily fooled and the drugs don't work. I tried setting the F5 cam right in front of those eyeballs and looking down at the ball a'la our fabulously normal lives. You, of course, have to guess where the top of the swing is but after thousands of mouse sliding hours I have a fair idea. So you look down and whack the ball and there's a divot and you look up (hey, reeeeaal life eh?) and you follow the ball with your own eyes and not those grotesque ones.
It was all well and good and a marvelous novelty but as usual it was a pain in the F5.
Oh, by the way. I broke par on the front nine at Mill Green. By the way.

Ah yeah, no shows. It's not for everyone. It takes some commitment. Still...there's plenty of time. For me it's the best thing that's happened to me motivation-wise. A new swing, a new challenge. I honestly couldn't play any other way now.
Nice round at the Schwarz though man. It was only in practice the 35 at Mill Green Skunky. I'm expecting nerves and horrendous bad luck will blow that score out in the full round.

I've discovered a chipping alternative without CAUing.
If you're given a chip shot but want more air, roll down to the putter and back up to your chipping club. The chip shot will change to "Full Shot". It's as effective as the 'Pitch Shot' - in fact I'll probably use it in preference to the chip even in ideal chip situations.

ted i matched your 35 on the back 9 at mill green.
im like you ted,i really enjoy playing this way,it seems to make me focus more on the short game ,than just being tied to a fixed distance,if that makes sense.
i think it has actually made my game play more consistant.
i just played my first 2 rounds in the pga wyndham RTS-M pro and scored a -2 and a EVEN round, never done that before.usually i average 8 to 10 over per round. mabey i just had a good night.lol! we will see what the next 2 rounds produce.cheers mate!

Hey, Ted, I think I'm going to have to drop out. I think I'm done with RTSM or H. I get probably 3 to 4 shot's per round, mostly tee shots, that have just terrible inexplicable loss of club head speed. I've been on the range, and when this happens all the numbers are right where you want them except for like a 20 to 30% loss of CHS. I can't figure it out and I'm just exasperated about it really. So, I'm going back to RTSC and I'm going to be happy and have fun.
After all, that's why we're here right? To have some fun.

No worries Crow. Nothing worse than slogging away while carrying a problem with you.
Great to have you join us. Schwarz was magnificent. Oh, and please remember us when you're building a new course and consider yardage markers and/or hole info boards at the tees.
Much obliged man.
Fare thee well.

Case in point plus show-pony result.

Nice round at Mill Green Skunky.
I shot a 78 in my round there and I was happy to get the small 80 monkey off my back. My long game was pretty average to bad but my scrambling was helpful. I agree about the short game. I take much more care with how I think the ball will react around the greens instead of adding up the numbers and firing away.
I enjoyed playing at Mill Green.
Armand, I'm going to play your homey again with the official conditions.

I've thought about the simple scroll switch and have used it before. In my case there are just times when i do prefer the standard chip. I actually like the shot under certain circumstances. The subdued full shot is effective around the green unless your pitching over or up onto a highly elevated green form your position. For me on those occasions I have to access the pitch shot. I was able to reprogram ctrl-alt-u onto one of my mouse buttons, so now it is not as immersion breaking or obtrusive when I feel I have to access the club selection and shot selection.
I really love BARE just want to have the option to adjust the HUD so all I see is Club Type / Shot Type and Wind Direction. Add in the ability to cycle through shot types available with a key press or button press with the HUD fading after 3 seconds of no mouse wheel and whatever the button or key for shot type is and I'm in heaven. I like the shot selections available that the game gives and absolutely knowing the club I have (no yardage necessary) in my hand without having to scroll count would actually add to the immersion for me. Especially if the in game caddy could be shut off.
Does anyone know if some of this is possible within the console for the game? Can you edit the HUD with console commands?
Well enough blathering about what could be. Time to test my new swing on the course and BARE.

Here's my round at Sawgrass.
It's not connoisseur golf by any means - I'm still not quite there with RTS-H - but it gives an idea of how I approach BARE golf. A round takes about 28 minutes. I didn't have to use CAU at any time now that I can change a chip to a full shot.
Such a great track Sawgrass. The greens are a exceptional.

Thanks Skunky.
I jagged some long putts. It helped. I suppose BARE is all about scrambling.

Sorry Ted, after seeing your excellent Sawgrass score I only went and played the best BARE round I've ever done. You were robbed, mate. It helped to have played a NAP round at Tour Pro just before - honed that swing. Not to mention an outrageous 4 at the par 5 16th - hit a hybrid 2nd shot beyond the pin into water, dropped, and chipped in for birdie...
