Just to add to Axe's post about how installing the updates for Windows eliminated his stutter issues, I had the same experience. I have had bad stutter since July of this year. When I saw Axe's post I tried to manually install the Windows 7 updates with no luck as it just kept loading and loading. I actually have auto updates set to on so yesterday and today over 20 updates were automatically installed including 7 with the description "Update for Windows 7 for X64 based systems". To my surprise I am now stutter free. I have since played 4 rounds and have seen only one small micro stutter on a putt. Now I am really looking forward to the new update!

If you are going to update your rig and are willing to spend the money I suggest making sure what you buy is directx12 compatible. I believe PP is bringing this out along with directx11 support in the future. The benefits of directx12 are huge. Google the advantages over directx11 and you will see why. I hope you enjoy your computer very much after you make your improvements.
Yes my new card is DX12 and has had good reviews as a budget card. At below $150 you can't far wrong. Not the best card by far for the latest DX12 games but then I only play Sims so not an issue for me. It also suites my present set up very well.
PP , it seems, is upgrading the game up to DX 11. I believe that will be the minimum graphics level needed for the console release, anything less and I doubt that console players would even contemplate buying this game.
Game play is well and good but it is nothing IMO without top quality graphics.

PG already is DX11, if your graphic card supports DX11, PG will use it!...It is just a question when there will be a version that also supports DX12 ![]()
Who cares...

I believe that PG is running DX9 still, (see Divotmaker post #187) and the DX11 version is still in the pipeline.

Fungolfer is correct. JNPG supports both DirectX versions. The game determines what your system is using and runs accordingly.

But does the game use full directx 11 technology, or is the code based on directx 9? Are we going to see a better looking game when it goes to a Windows 10 /directx 12 version)

If that is the case then I stand corrected.

I have The golf club and it runs find on my I3 computer with 3D grass so what is with the 3D grass in PG that will cause performances issues? Could clever rendering techniques be used so it wouldn't be a performances issue? Perhaps Players can specify how much grass they like to see as with the tree foliage? Only see the grass that is in their FOV?
I have played open world games with 3D grass and my I3 can handle it while setting down other graphics settings?

You will see many more courses with huge amounts of grass in PG, Even on high settings you get plenty of pop in with TGC, and it may have 3D grass but not a huge amount of it, when i created TPC boston for TGC i had to remove three quarters of the grass to get the course to publish, the game does not like you using too much of it, whereas PG allows you to run riot.

You are talking about plantable grass. 3D grass on TGC is everywhere... rough, fairways, greens etc.

Thank you DoG and Acrilix for comment! Acrilix what do you mean plantable grass? Do you mean grass you can plant in TGC editor? And which course is full of grass in PG?

Mike or Andrew might be the only ones to know when such updates may be available; I'm sure they are reluctant to (and won't) put forth a schedule. If the Twitch broadcast is still coming, there may be a hint of a timetable in it, but that is a complete guess on my part.
