From what Andrew put in the update details, this one is worth the wait!

Do we have any idea on a career mode or ps4 release? Should we figure at least a year for either? I know the game is not the most important part of the teams work so it can't get all the attention that we'd all like but, if tgc2 improves the gameplay plus all the extras they're talking about. Look out in april '17 if you're that far behind. this coming update should help and will make the current game more enjoyable. although content wise it doesn't add anything.

That is not true.

What does it add content wise? Not being smart but there's no career mode, no swing animations, no golfer customization, . Well i guess ghost rounds and 3 types of greens and improved cup a.i. players would be considered content. I am all for gameplay being #1 on the list. so the physics updates should be interesting. We'll see. I hope soon. Last week came and went and no twitch broadcast. So...?

I'm personally excited for the physics/short game tweaks.

I love to see gameplay continually optimized and revised as needed.

One of my biggest beefs w/ TGC was that they "made it" and basically just said screw it on any substantive physics/swing changes beyond that.

Recorded rounds of actual players is more than "ghost rounds" which are far less immersive. That is added content.

IIRC, they walked back on the only one dramatic change they did make as their forum complained (they like shooting in the 50's over there)

There are many brilliant changes to the physics but I guarantee that some players will not be happy initially and refuse to accept the changes are a step in the right direction. The putting and holes physics are the biggest change and will add quite a few shots to your scores. Use the new putting camera angles and you will welcome the changes eventually.

The TGC developer wanted to make the kind of game he wanted to play. He did, to a fault. He limited options, especially gameplay, meaning users could not customize it to suit their own preferences. The developer remained inflexible, despite the complaints. PP has taken the opposite approach. The result, I believe, will be more satisfied (and less frustrated) users.

Is there a super low to the ground putting camera?

I tend to agree with this, but want to add that as much as I love options, I feel that they are probably the cause of the very slow development of the game. Almost any addition or change seems to cause new bugs, as well as old bugs that resurface again and again. It's pretty hard to program and test something that has so many variables. I see bugs every time I play JNPG.... some that have been around since last year and with all the options available things are only likely to get worse with time as the code gets more and more complex.

No, just behind and raised so you can see the backswing better.

I realise that a low camera angle helps you to see the contours better but this new angle helps a lot with backswing power judgement.
I just count the number of ball widths to judge the backswing.
The free-cam can always be used for lower views.

I just wish we could get "both" - Low and backswing options

I have really no problem judging the power (RTS-C is very conducive to learning the swing by feel basically) and I could honestly easily play with no avatar whatsoever.  I do realize it is of course very different with different swings.

Just frustrating to not have lower cam options for those that would benefit from it.  The FreeCam problem continues to be that if you Config it to be usably slow/precise/sensitive for putting camera movement, it's useless for everything else due to that same slowness.

I find it hard to believe that this game still has no low putting view like real life.  :(

How low do you get your eyes from the ground when playing in real life, lol?

Even if I crouch down to line up a putt mine are still a few feet above the ground.

I play aiming almost as low as I do while playing snooker which is quite low.  :)

Fair point but the lowest level is still not low enough.  I think if the free cam could be stopped from bouncing back up when you get too low then it would solve a lot of pain for those of us that try to use this for lining up our putts when playing without grids or BLI.

In my opinion, the lowest level needs to be about 2 inches off the ground.  If we could just snap to that level and then pan around - problem solved.  I know that's likely way easier said than done or it would already be done but... just saying.

Re:  Low Camera View for Putting

The Tiger Games (at least one version, perhaps several of them, I can't recall) on the PS3 had it, with a nice quick animation up/down to the view.

I posted a shot of it back in April here:

http://www.perfectpa...reecam/?p=91158

It's a legitimate view that should be in Perfect Golf - Akin to kneeling down and many real life golfers do get quite low to the ground in the process.

As Mebby pointed out above - This would largely be solved if the FreeCam could not bounce off the terrain, but I did ask Mike about that a while back he said it wasn't possible for some reason (no reason given - must be technical thing)
