Must admit i was wrong i like the realistic greens too.

Now just got to learn to play the game again after about 3 months of playing fifa.

Then his 2nd mind must have kicked in and he's back on his anti-realistic greens crusade.

And i do like the realistic putting it's a great idea no problem, BUT if i'm playing with you I WANT THE SAME PUT AS YOU HAVE if i'm on the same putting line as you, example if i'm 2 inches behind you and your put goes left of the cup (with correct pace and line) I DON'T WANT MY PUT TO GO RIGHT OF THE HOLE (with correct pace and line) why is that so hard for you to understand?.

This is not going to happen in this game on realistic or bumpy settings.  It's the way the developers want it.  Do YOU understand?

I understand what you want, which is why you need to use perfect green setting. What I (and some others) are having trouble with, is getting you to understand the concept behind the realistic green setting.

There is a possibility with the realistic green setting that we both putt on the same line from more or less the same spot and we both hole our putts. There is also the possibility we don't, even though we have hit them the same.

I hit 4 consecutive putts on the flat green at Woody's Practice area yesterday from 10ft on realistic greens and holed them all. The next one missed by a hair to the right. Just like can happen in the real world.

I don't know if you have ever seen or used a stimp-meter.

We have one at our golf club. I have seen balls rolled down the stimp-meter on what is deemed a flat area of our practice putting green and seen two balls rolling more or less the same distance end up 3-4 inches apart because of how they interacted with the putting surface. With a stimp-meter you are guaranteed the same roll each time, there is no open/closed club face involved. So please explain to me how the two balls ended up 3-4 inches apart after rolling down the same device?

IMO, this is all the realistic green setting is doing, adding an element of realism in to the game for putting.

No i don't understand, what i do understand is this, the game engine wont allow it, or the devs don't know how to code it into the game, i think my explanation is closer to the truth then yours, with respect.

No.  They do know how to do it.  They choose not to.  The game engine will allow it.  They don't want it the way you do.  It's as simple as that.

Now that is interesting.

I look at it like this, i try to play this game to the best of my ability, i started out with beginner mode and as i got better at the game i moved up to TP, my skills improved that allowed me to move up the levels, everyone i know who play PC/console games like to think they are playing the game at the hardest level they can, so i try to play this game with people who are at the same skill set as me, so we have 4 people playing a round of golf with the same skill sets, but now your telling me we have to factor luck into the game when we play "because thats how the devs want it" no one asked me? if i wanted the option to miss a ten foot put because of a random script?, if the dves pland the update this way i say good luck with that only a small group of players will except this, i was hoping it was the game engine that stoped everyone having the same put from the same line, now i know it could have been done a different way, i wont exept it the way it is playing with a group of friends because its unfair on everyone in the game. i will use realistic greens when i play alone. I don't want to win/lose a game of golf because of a random script thank you.

The realistic puttinig is not realistic at all on a flat straight putt of 9 ft if you have make good contact and straight it will go in .The random cigar buts on the greens dont make it realistic,i think this was because players were complaining about putting stats and this is how the developers have tried to even it up.Too many players are wanting this game to be too realistic , you cant have a golf game on a pc/console to be like on the course but they can do their best to suit the players that want it that way. That seems to be the problem some guys think that playing golf on a pc/console can be made to be like real golf that like saying truck simulator is like driving a real truck .AND guys give the guy a break he makes valid points

I don't understand what the argument is about! If you don't think the 'realistic' setting is realistic then don't use it.

On the contrary we ask you everytime you create a game. I'm not sure what your point is TBH. You might as well be arguing for every option, swing type and camera angle you don't use to be removed from the game because you don't like it.

You like to play on 'perfect' greens (that's why it's still there as an option) and I can completely understand that but you seem to be lobbying for an option you don't like to be removed just because you don't like it?

If I understand him correctly (and I should do since he has repeated himself ad nauseam) he now likes realistic greens for personal use but he doesn't like the idea of luck playing a part when he is in a tournament.  Not a logical argument, of course.  If you accept that luck plays a part in golf (as it does) you should accept it whether playing solo or in a tournament.  A bit harder to bear in a tournament perhaps, but that's just how it would be for a real golfer.  Learn to live with it.  Some of us actually think it's part of the fun of golf!

1. i like to think i'm playing the game at it it's hardest settings, because i have earned the right to do this because i actually like the game and practace the game so i can play on the hardest settings.

With this update you have made the game impossible to practice putting on "realistic" settings.

2. why didn't you procedural generate the "realistic" green settings so every golfer you are playing with gets the same "realistic" greens?.

I have never seen a put line that's breaking left suddenly break right ? because of the green conditions, BUT i could exept this if EVERYONE WHO HAS THE SAME PUT REACTS THE SAME WAY.
