For me without tournaments and no career mode there is nothing and it was the sole reason I played. Without this I don't know what I will do as I guess its time to fire up some MLB The Show on the PS3. What is sad is if its because of this testing issue then the people Bitching I hope your frigging happy as you cant test everything and things happen with bad pins and sort and you just deal with it. This will make a few people real happy as they were hell bent on screwing up OGT for all because it didn't fit their agenda and give me hell for saying that but its the truth. Frustrating......

Joe if I am right and I could be wrong that is playing with someone online and at set times and if that's the case a lot of us don't desire that or are free all the time to do it. That's why we played the OGT Tours just as we played the LSPN tours in Links. Without an online venue to play tours this game is dead as its a must have.

No, you don't need to be online guys, I play there as well as OGT and only play offline. You can play online and in the events like at OGT, plus they have 9 hole events too if you're short of time, which fits perfectly for me.
Sad that OGT is going for PC players and many thanks to Vance/Hogan and the other admins for giving us the Tours, been my staple diet for nearly a year if not longer, but at least there is an alternative, phew!

Affo do the events when you register for like the PGA 18 then show up in your Que?

Curious to figure out the PGLS system. It seems a little overwhelming to a newbie but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Site looks nice though!

This is very disapointing news. I have really enjoyed the competition of tournament play even though I am not very competative and will miss it very much. Thank to zmax and all that are envolved in the OGT site and the hosting of the tournamnets.
As to why, I feel it has a lot to do with the many critics who complained about OCT in this forum. Truly sad.

Yes. You indicate on the PGLS site which tours you want to participate in and then when each event opens each week they appear in the game on the Public Tournaments page automatically.

Not surprised they've had enough tbh after recent comments (which are always a reflection of the poor mental state of the commenting individual and never a constructive criticism to be given attention) but I accept it can be hard to ignore pixels on a screen in the form of words and sentences that brains insist on attributing meaning to. Bloody brains!
I hope you reconsider but if not fair enough. Thanks again and best wishes.

I really agree with this. It's one of the reasons I only play multiplayer with one other person, as even then it takes a while.
Real time online 4 person is simply too time consuming (for me anyhow)

At LSPN I would set the events up at for the whole season in the beginning of the season and put a start date on them and let them fly and this way you didn't have to worry each week about setting them up. I really liked this but we also had the advantage of having a full library of courses which we don't have here yet but are getting there. I believe at the very least we could setup about 2 to 3 weeks in advance and not run into any problems if the software allows you to do it. I was asked to help in Admin but I just don't have a lot of time right now and I am completely out of the playing loop on weekends but if it would help to save the site I would be willing to do it during the week and set events up. What they really could use is some monies help also as its not free to keep a server going and at links we had a $20 a year dues to keep things running and I would be willing to do that again to keep it going. I signed up for PGLS and will play events there but there is room to play at both. One thing though is that the bitching by some must stop as its getting real old and needs to go away. Just my 2 Cents.

Would a $20 annual fee get you a years golf gauranteed? Imagine now if 80 members had all subbed $20 each to help with the server costs and then the Admins decide to pull the site because of what has happened recently. Sure that would go down well, lol.

There are costs to run a site and at LSPN they had annual dues of $20 and still do tI'll this day and to be honest $20 is not a lot for what you get. Remember they are not only running the events but hosting course downloads and that's not free either. Nothing good is free and you have to pay to get service and they should be no different.

I think there is a huge misinterpretation of how this site is run. The tournaments and tour events are created and moderated by admins, however the overall site, code, server maintenance and costs are not. The bottom line is every small change made on both our simulation/PC sites and applications are done by only one person, and it has taken a toll. This decision was made a while ago, but was most likely only going to happen in july, at vance's request. Now that has changed. One of our guys is going to be very busy with a newborn, and vance has been doing this for many years, I think he's earned himself a break. We are the primary 3 that run various aspects of this site with the help of MANY others. I'm sure if we wanted we could find extra admins to help out, and get more donations, but this isn't just about that. It's nothing personal. Everyone has done a great job and hopefully the course stuff can continue with the right help. If it does we plan to continue to offer course downloads for all. All tournaments and tours will terminate at the end of this season. I'm sure whoever the other API sites are will do a great job of improving your gaming experience. We will move our focus primarily on simulation golf.

@hoganwoods: Will you guys continue to run the course downloads portion, or at the very least not take down what is there?
I presume that once a course is posted there it's pretty low cost/hassle as the files (and thus storage size) are actually on Mega?

Yes I don't see why what is already there would be removed. It will probably be moved to another location but kept intact. I hope that testing also continues because it is invaluable. I think the designers like it, for the most part.

Just a thought, but if even hosting becomes an issue, something that dawned on me a while ago is that a simple (and free) Google Doc (sheet) with the courses list and many relevant data columns along with a link to the Mega download in one of the columns for each course could very simply and efficiently service the course download needs.
