Ian and Greens,

Since you have "half scores" at both Pacific Dune and Cypress Point, the one that you complete with a second card, and post first, becomes you round 1 score.  You're not locked in yet, and you have a second chance at each to go lower.

OK...my playing partner, StoneComet, has been furiously playing rounds to get us "on the board".  Our second go at Pacific Dunes.

So now I can tell me story.

A few pages back I make a comment about being "that" guy - the a**hole who shoots ultra-low right out of the gate.  I was pointing the finger at myself. Not more than 30 minutes after Ted posted the conditions, I played and recorded my Pacific Dunes round, a -12.  So anyway...I hope I didn't offend anyone with the comment.

I think I understand....lol..

However, I didn't want to do anything 'hidden' by PM's etc, and so can only post to Greens inside this thread... hence showing my 2nd attempt score at those courses I have played. I expect Greens will grab screenies for his 2nd attempt and naturally, the lowest scores would be used.

Just a shame we played these two courses instead of Torrey....!

No biggie... I know you're capable..!

I didn't expect to win this event or even get 'that' close to go to a sudden death or anything etc... it's a bit of fun! I'm sure all of us are playing it that way... and those scores above and beyond (if recorded) are even better for others to see too...

Ian,

PMs are actually a good way to comunicate strategy with your partner.  Stone and I have been doing this from the start.

Also...Torrey Pines doesn't have to be your Round 1 course - play and submit in any order.  Your first posted, 2 card course goes up as #1.  The next 2 card couse after that becomes #2, and so on.  Only locked in when both cards are posted in this thread.  Hope that helps.

Here's an updated board.  It's a spreadsheet that I can give-out at the end (on MEGA).

Three teams are in with Round 1 scores; two more with "half" scores.

Four teams have "half" scores for Round 2; lots of recorded round at the MEGA site.  Progress should be quick over the next week.

Ian I have loaded Torrey Pines into the file for you and good luck as I was quite frustrated with it and it was the lipout garbage again.  I have been a big supporter of the new green physics but the last week is starting to turn me and when you play my round take a look at the 3 putt on 15 from five feet as the 2nd putt I wiffed in disgust as the ball had hardly any speed and went in and jumped out the back side.  On 18 I had a 3 ft putt and you tell me how it lips out as I have no clue.  I had about 5 lipouts during the round today and it killed the round.  I love how the game is playing but you just cant put a ball on the lip and expect it to drop even with no speed and that is frustrating.  Hit them staight and I will load Pebble tomorrow and play the others as I go.

That was a crazy match Terry as I followed through hole by hole. As usual my wheels fell off late on the back nine. Give me water or an OB and no matter how hard I try the ball sails off with a mind of its own. I'm blaming the ball.

Well played. Great matches.

1st set of scores for JCat04 and Armand (from Torrey Pines).  JCat04 played well as he was firing at all pins; shame a few more first putts didn't drop.

Jim I am going to play Pacific Dunes in a couple minutes and that will get our round one in.  Having an issue with my F keys as none want to work during the game and yes I have my Steam overlay on and no idea what is causing it so if I cant take a screen shot will our score be allowed?

Well the carnage is over and between answering the phone for customer calls and not playing much for three days the results were just horrid and thank God I had Ian to watch with his score as my caddie left and went to the 19th hole on number 5.  Its pretty tough doing this and playing OGT when you really only have 5 days to play a week and running a business at the same time so with that said I have to give something up and after this event I will probably have to pass on future events till I have more time as work is really busy right now and work comes first.  This is a great format but it requires time and that I don't have much free at this point.  Ian I will get you PB record sometimes in the next couple of days and try to get Cypress played to get our second round in and nice round you had but that lipout on 18 was just cruel.  Below is the damage as again my F keys wont work.

Ian         -3      68

Gboro    +10   81

Thank god I had a respectable round on the one I sent you.  lol

Ian Pebble Beach is loaded and that is all of my four that I have to load.  It would have been a decent round except for the as always lipouts that now occur.  It seems in the last week or so they have really increased almost to the point of lack of enjoyment and what is perplexing is that it is with a stimp of 10 as it seems there are more at 10 than at 13 and that just is not right.  If I didn't know any better I would say that there seems to be a min set of how many you get. Lol.  The reality is that lipouts are good but if it excessive like lately its a game chaser as the average player will toss the controller or mouse down after a few rounds of that happening.  Either way hit them straight and please go low.

Joe ,

I logged your score, but it may not show for awhile - others have to complete their Round 1, and 2 scores first.

Great shooting BTW.

If I've decifered your steam handle right you're Civil Engineer from Illinois?  My handle would be MdME&AEEng.

JMK59

That would be correct.  I graduated with a BSCE from the University of Illinois and worked 40 years as a Civil Engineer with the City of Urbana which happens to be the home of the U of I.  I bleed Orange and Blue!
