Yet another reason we should be able to play offline, COMPLETELY divorced from Steam, servers, etc.  We need to be able to access courses we paid for away from Steam.

problem with this is, no steam,no game at all

Only a dev can tell if the steam version is gonna be abandoned or not. I think it will stay. But the updated JNPG is probably a completely new game. I would think that only buyers of the new version will see 3d grass, career mode, etc. And if this new game is distributed over Steam?? I don't know.

We do read these threads but nothing has changed - we're still working on updating the game and adding the 3d grass, mo cap golfers etc. When we have something representative of a final product rest assured we will show it.

Agreed with above. Thank you Mike.
I think even something this simple once a month is basically all anyone is hoping for re: progress/status

Greetings,

Can you blame the devs for not reading these types of topics and responding?  If I was a Dev of some game, I wouldn't either.....

As for their plans for the future, they have already posted about the big update(3D grass, lighting, new motion cap, etc) that is coming to the game.  They have posted that they are working on 3D grass and have been play testing it.  And they didn't want to post videos until they had new motion caps or finished tweaking it.  They also stated they were still undecided on whether the update will be just a new Win10 version/xbox only or will it include the current steam version as well.   Just because they don't post a status every other week, doesn't mean the sky is falling or the game has been shelved.....lol

The sim version of this game is the same version used by the mouse/controller players.  This means that this game is here to stay.  Just be patient.  Big updates will come.

Could be wisdom of the ages here. Patience, however, is another thing altogether.

SC  :)

Hi all.

I seriously wonder how Jack Nicklaus ended up with his name attached to this game in it's current form?

I wondered this myself until I did some research on the development team. I have also been following and playing the game for a bit now since the "Official Release" which gives me a better gauge of the team and how it operates and communicates. All I can say is that I'll trust Mr. Nicklaus as I consider him to be a visionary personality. Doesn't mean he is always right, just really good odds when "The Golden Bear" gets involved. In addition, I tend to trust the team these days even at the current pace of development. Which is par for the course one might say. In the end I think the game ends up being one of the best ever. Only time will tell.

I think I recall reading through that stuff a while back. Part of the reason I'm pretty confident about where the game ends up in the long run I guess. That and the team that is working on the game.

The answer is in the PP's news section.  Nicklaus Design play tests their designs on a simulator using PG and OGT interface. :)

Nicklaus Design has adopted Perfect Parallel's software suite as its official 3-D course design engine, and will be the only golf course design firm with that capability. Nicklaus Design is integrating these tools with its T2Green CAD system to create virtual working models of its golf course designs, which can be viewed in three dimensions and actually played with a golf simulator during the design and construction process.

Toys back in the pram?

Care to enlighten us?

Is that something to do with "Napoleonic sword collecting" or "leathercraft"?
