LOL. It must be the Percocet talking cause it looks like I read that the simulator guys asked Andrew to interview about the simulator aspects of the game and low and behold, PG2 has turned into a simulator only product. Hilarious. Just hilarious.
Fair point…
That said, those of us not in the simulator world have begged and pleaded for any kind of updates for ever and ever and ever and never get anything…
So what are we to take away here?
Are you suggesting one of us private message Andrew and ask for an interview about the PC side of things?
The developers don't respond to any PMs from me so I would be the wrong person to do it, that's for sure.

Maybe it’s time for Andrew to update the WHOLE community about PG2, not just an elite segment of hardcore golfers who can afford equipment that most of us can’t. Why the mystery about the future? Makes no sense.

funny thing earlier today i hovered my pointer over Mike's name on the forum list at the bottom and guess what he was in this thread.
pretty rude to just leave all hanging all the time. i think they must get some kind of perverted kick out of the drama that this kind
of thread causes between the members.
hell he was in the thread and it would be an update just to be told to f---off.lol

I agree with Ted re: PG2 - it's shaping up as a way to bring in more money with a new title instead of PG1 getting the updates/features it richly deserves. If PG2 actually HAS those features all well and good, but nothing in Andrew's interview made me believe it. What makes all of this worse is that there's no guarantee PG1 will be playable forever. GBs of elevation data destined for the recycle bin?
I'm still interested in how the licensing will work out. Muirfield Village is a cool course but if that's all they've gotten out of 'the name' was it worth it?

Let us look at the bright side for a minute.
JNPG is working pretty good from a play-ability stand point. Multiplayer works well and connection losses are few and far between. The game has no expiring equipment you need to buy. 3rd party web sites have tournaments established. The new JNPG will at least be an improvement over what we have.
A look at the dark side for a minute.
If we never get a JNPG 2 release what is the future.
We will be looking for a new golf game. And probably only a console game. Makes for a dim future for pc golf.
Conclusion:
We need to band together and support this game. Or we have no future! Simple and straight forward.

What do you suggest we do to "band together and support this game" that we aren't already doing?

not been around here for a while but the lack of news of any kind is disturbing. I totally understand that the developers main priority is just that- developing but the problem with this is that silence breeds rumours, rumours leads to suffering, suffering leads to the Dark Side- you know what I mean
Cyber golf is a rare beast where there is a huge dearth of products to choose from with a huge potential audience to capture so from a marketing and business point it would make sense to ensure that a viable product, even one in the future, should be mentioned from time to time.
Would it really disrupt the process too much just to pen a few lines every so often just to keep us baying sheep in the pen rather than allowing them to wander away through the open gate

My Sentiments as well here, i also have sent pm`s in the past going back to when i first joined here and rarely get a reply and mostly get ignored .
We have some very supportive members that kept me here , but i am just about done .
I have ran several businesses over the years and if i ignore my customers like this , what do you think would happen?
So i got some not so good vibes from that which doesnt sit well with me , that`s why myself and few others have faded away and not too bothered now what`s going anymore

Maybe PP just hope we all clear off and they can start afresh with some friendlier, less annoying users when PG2 is released!

My take on the long silence is that the devs aren't sure themselves what the future holds for the pc version. If it was full steam ahead we would have definitely had several updates by now, just like the old days when the devs were full of optimism. If they've decided not to go ahead with another version I think they would have had the decency to tell us that too. So I'm left with the thought that they're in two minds about the future. On the one hand it's their baby and they must be very emotionally attached to it and hoping it can still grow into something rather splendid; on the other hand, the financial return has probably been pretty bad up to now and they might be thinking that the situation will probably not improve much given the smallness of the team and their other commitments, so is it really worth persevering with the pc version?
Just my take as I say, guesswork same as everyone else's views.

No question: We are not entitled to have a PG2. But PP has gotten our money already - a little bit more communication about what's going on would be recommended imo.
We are not, I agree. However the majority of Internet users feel they are. Sad, really.

Just fired Links 2003 to check. Yep still works for me - on Windows 10 and using Nvidia 1060 card. If you have newer stuff (esp CPU) than myself then you may have a point.

Being another old fart myself Trailblazer I'm of the same mind as you. I am unable to play IRL golf, I cannot afford a Simulator setup and Computer Golf is the only game that I play. JNPG is the only viable option for me as I cannot get LINKS to play on my system anymore and I would not want to go back to what is sadly a very outdated golf simulation that was once the Top of the Line for many years.
As others have said as it now stands JNPG works and plays very well and some added tweaks and options would be greatly appreciated, but it is still the best Golf simulation available so it's loss would also be very disappointing to me.

Lots of negative emotion, not much empathy, and a total lack of respect for the people who put their passion into making a game for us to enjoy. None of us is owed anything and everything we receive is a bonus. When I paid for JNPG I wasn't buying the right to demand a response from the developers at every frustrated whim. I was buying a golf game which I have played for over 1200 hours and continue to do so. I'm happy with that.
Thank you PP.
