I was buying a golf game which I have played for over 1200 hours and continue to do so. I'm happy with that.
Thank you PP.

It's not about the game robbiet71, which I still enjoy, despite a few annoying bugs. This is PP's forum which they don't seem to want to post on anymore. No reason has been given, their posts have just completely dried up.
Do PP really want to upset and frustrate their core followers just for the sake of a word or two every now and then?
As far as I can make out Mike last started a thread nearly 6 months ago which I believe was the last real news and photos of PG2, so your critism of people 'demanding a response from the devs at every frustrated whim' isn't justified.

Hi there. A newie question here.

Is there any kind of limitation to use the course forge assets in Unity for any other particular project not Perfect Golf related?

Is Nicklaus design CourseForge (Unity package) included with the Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf game on Steam shop?

Thanks,

The short answer is 'yes' The EULA states that CourseForge is for PerfectGolf content creation and for non commercial use only.

In Topic: The new default FOV is no good for RTS/M players - a direct plea to the devs

10 January 2018 - 03:53 AM

I guess the only issue with the new FOV is the apparent distance of the golfer to the cam and not the actual wider visual. I have already stated that we are looking at moving the FOV to 42 which will be much better. As I'm not coding it however I cannot say when that will be.

You suggested the console tweak for FOV, but that resets every time.

Could we perhaps have that setting stick for those of us that use console tweaks in our Autoexec files already for other things (like the FreeCam settings you gave us the ability to set how we like)?

That would solve the grousing about this I think...for those of us who really are struggling with this change.

That's no different really than us adding an FOV slider and for the reasons explained it's not a good idea for us. It's pretty much impossible to cater to people's every preference and we would be foolish to try and do that. If we do our job right the vast majority will be happy with the choices we make.

In Topic: The Re-release of 1.4.3.0!

03 January 2018 - 03:19 PM

Buck - well there are already 3 view options in the game as well as the free cam so it's really more a question of getting them right and I can't see us adding any more options for an FOV slider in game settings - it's just too complex to setup with all the moving around the camera has to do.

Thats at least once a week.... and ya know He's reading.. Just because your schedule doesn't line up with his . doesn't mean it's bad business. I take it as just not much new to report.

Andrew on the other hand who knows? He Has  replied 2 at least 1 since beginning of January. so he must  also be coming in.

I mean if all ya want to do is bitch and whine. hey go for it.... Have a blast Be careful though because assuming things with out proper info or not enough info kinda realy just leaves you looking foolish. I can't complain even though there are issues I'd like addressed hell I've played this game for two years for 30 bucks. certainly got my money's worth and Got nothing but thanks for mike and andrew.

@slice:  Those examples of Mike's few last posts are sort of different discussion vs maybe an occasional:

"PG2 work continues and it will be a PC product, not just Sim....just taking us awhile.  Thanks again to everyone for your patience".

That really wouldn't be very hard to post and would honestly be appreciated by many.

Mike was just in this exact thread about an hour ago.  Surely it's known that many are wondering where we are at this present time..

A tiny little update (literally a couple lines) would go a long ways - that's all anyone is saying..

Calling everyone "whiners and naysayers" seems a bit far honestly.

I knew it was a matter of time before someone pulled the "ungrateful" card or the "impatient" card.

This doesn't apply here.  We are simply fans begging for ANY bit of information we can get.  Spin it however you want but the facts say it all.  Emotions aren't necessary when the facts tell the full story.

So..... we have a much better game than Links2003 on PC and we have 12 players or less saying "I want more". We paid our $20.00 and this gives us the right to tell the developers where they went wrong and why they should listen to our every bitch. Get a life Ladies, and enjoy what a fantastic PC game this is.

Not having a go at you , mate. When you pay $20.00  (huge. lol) for a game that can keep you interested all your waking  hours and connect you with players from all over the world for this tiny amount , it's a no brainer. The Jones boys are busy creating something special. What they have given us in the meantime is the best PC Golf Game ever. Those who want more, need to get a life.

You again?  Not sure what your beef is against OGT, but let me educate you once again.

OGT helped PP developed the tournament api and Simulator api that allows the game to be used by various simulator devices.  We are continuously recruiting simulator players to JNPG each day.  Each sim user buys the simulator pass for $250/year.  This payment goes directly to Steam which then goes to PP.

OGT in affect, is making PP a lot of money.  Not to mention the course testing and releasing on a professional looking page.  All for the benefit of PP and the JNPG community. In the mean time, all we ask for is a $20 donation/6 months from our tour members to help pay server cost.

You do not have a grasp on business and fair marketing.  You fall into a large group of Internet users who feel "entitled" and your use of free speech is not a defense. You're way off base with your innuendos which means you honestly do not have a clue about what goes on behind the main page of any given legitimate site you visit.  In this case PP, OGT and PGLS.

This is not an invitation to a debate with you.  I have spoken my feelings about your posts, please take them to heart.

lol re. OGT making money off PP.  The three admins wouldn't even get paid $1/day for their work. Like all the course creators, testers, and others who expanded the game, they do it to add value to the game they love.

SteadiEddie hit the nail on the head - you don't pay $20 and get PP as your bitches for life. Most $100 games aim at giving 6-8 hours play. You got your value years ago and should have got a refund in Steam's 2 week refund period if you felt ripped off.

I wouldn't be passionate about visiting a forum full of people beating down my baby, telling me how to do business or that I can't do a simple click meter.  I wouldn't want to give regular updates if it resulted in tons of "But you said..." posts asking for more detail, and an inbox full of PMs.

Lucky I'm not in charge, I'd refund your $20, ban you from game and forum and buy you TGC as a departure gift--secretly hoping you'd take your toxicity there. Heck if a TGC sim pass wasn't so overpriced, I buy you one and a SkyTrak so Vader gets to deal with you.

Actually I take that back, you'd be longing to play JNPG sim after a few weeks and I'd have you back under a new name.

PP are not here to supply your sole source of entertainment for the last 10 years of life for $20/35. For all we know they could be trying to save the bank foreclosing on their houses and have to devote their energy on avenues that bring money in. There was huge opposition at the time when subscription plans or course fees were suggested - well this could be the result. Thank yourselves. PP could do what other studios do - simply declare PG1 will be ending in a few months and PG2 will be on $20/month subscription. You're making that very easy for them to do that with your attitudes.

So you think that an occasional post or new a thread started by the devs is an unreasonable request?

Instead of asking for what's going on (which isn't really bearing fruit), maybe we should ask - when will we have an idea?  If someone just piped up and said by June 2018 you'll know if PG1 is dead, PG2 is charging ahead, we're shutting up shop etc that would satisfy some of us.  It's not asking for detail, it's asking for a date, an estimate at that.  If the devs are too busy for that, then they're busy indeed.

Maybe there's already some ETAs floating around, I don't know.  It's too long ago to recall.

I think that's been tried. The devs may very well be busy on PG2, who knows, but Mike has frequented this very thread twice to my knowledge in the last few day and not commented. Blimey, even Mr. Trump has time to Tweet! (Non-Political comment) ;-)

There will always be this loyal crowd to a game/company who will defend a product or company no matter what sorts of criticism (even the constructive kind) appears - just look at Apple. Of course this is also the case here and its fair enough. However, this doesnt mean that other people are ungrateful, impatient and stupid because they have an opinion about communication and news announcements. This sort of argument is invalid and ridiculous in my opinion. As said by others, this is a forum on the developers website - even a developer who released an early access version of a game while receiving tons of help from the community and they communicated very well here on the forum in the past. Now the game (PG) seems to be done, its out and can be bought. But they announced that PG2 is being worked on - people would expect at least some communication/status about this. Of course not as regular and involved as the early access PG1, but more than whats been given and i think thats very fair to expect.

I havent been active and around the forums much in a long time. Mostly visited here just to take a quick look at the first 10-12 forum headlines to find out if theres important news about the game or PG2 - and i understand those who long for news. But i also can't understand why the devs cant seem to find 2 minutes of their time once a month to do a simple 2-3 line status update. Coming from a 20 year long customer service business career, this is the opposite of ideal if you want to keep your current and future customers happy. It simply hurts the brand.

Also, i'm not aware of the popularity of golf simulators around the world - it must be huge and cheap to buy in the US + be quite a good source of income, since theres so much focus on this?  I know that here in Scandinavia where i'm from...sims are fairly rare and usually only found in very few golf clubs in the country - also being expensive to try/use.  So i'm guessing theres a huge target group of PC golfers wishing there'd be some progress (news-wise too) on the PC golfing game too, including myself. "We" cant quite understand the excessive simulator focus, altho we know that its important to the revenue of the company.

I cant help but think there might be some pride (and perhaps a little arrogance?) involved here, when the devs obviously read all these posts but still wont give a tiny update or status from time to time. I hope im wrong tho. :)

Well said rane!   I wasn't going to get involved in this thread, but my goodness the drama by the defenders of the faith in this thread...  nobody said they were entitled, felt ripped off, or the best one yet, "need to get a life".. ha ha!

Supporters of this game simply are requesting some sort of update to what is going on with development.  I think they also may enjoy some form of interaction with the devs, asking questions, providing feedback, etc.   Whether it comes or not, so be it, but I do not see anything wrong with asking.   Holy smokes...
